In 2020, Debra Castillo and I co-edited an exciting new book, rooted in a year-long Mellon Diversity Seminar we had led at Cornell a few years before. We brought together a range of wonderful faculty members to explore what it means to be a scholar who engages their fullest humanity in their work. How do we build our teaching and research for public impact? What drives us? What challenges us? How can we create a scholarly community that not only makes room for but nourishes our deepest selves?
